fleshchambericonThe Flesherton & District Chamber of Commerce serves the village of Flesherton and surrounding area including Ceylon, Eugenia, Feversham, Kimberley, Maxwell and Priceville.

Our mission is to be the recognized voice of business in our community; committed to enhancing the economic prosperity of the Flesherton district.

Who We Were

After World War II, a group of civic-minded residents of Flesherton and area formed a group called the Flesherton Service Club, with the aim of promoting the area and raising funds for community projects. As the community grew, local businesses became very involved in the organization and the decision was made to join the Canadian Chamber of Commerce. An application was submitted and a charter was granted in 1964.

Who We Are

The Flesherton and District Chamber of Commerce is a voluntary organization responsible to a Board of Directors, who are elected by Chamber members. The voluntary board sets policies for the Chamber and is governed by the bylaws of the organization. Our members include retired and active farmers, retailers, business people, service providers and professionals. The Flesherton Chamber is a member of the Canadian Chamber of Commerce.

What We Do

  • Present each year the Community Awards evening – with a dinner, guest speaker and awards for Business of the Year, Senior of the Year and Citizen of the Year
  • Sponsor and maintain this web site featuring  community events, a business directory and news & information about Flesherton business and arts communities
  • Print in a local arts magazine and post online the Chamber’s Arts in the Area column, written by a local artist
  • Produce and maintain seasonal banners in the summer and wreaths in the winter in the Village of Flesherton and Hamlet of Eugenia
  • Steward the Walking Village Initiative to encourage the enjoyment and enhance the experience of our Village and district on foot
  • Sponsor guest speakers on topics such as insurance, financial services, government services and incentives, technology and communication, marketing and business management.
  • Maintain and staff a Tourist Information Booth in the Village of Flesherton during the summer.
  • Contribute time, energy and money to many community projects, including the Flesherton Farmers’ Market, the Beautification Committee and Eugenia Gold Rush Days
  • Promote tourism and economic development through marketing, promotions and public relations
